On a Tuesday, the fourth of February, our archive had the honor of hosting the wonderful organization Min Stora Dag’s annual “Min Stora Middag.” The evening was dedicated to spreading the organization’s message. It was, of course, also about increasing awareness of Min Stora Dag, sharing what they have accomplished during 2024, and what we can expect from the organization in the year ahead. The evening was especially significant as Min Stora Dag celebrated 25 years of granting wishes and spreading vital joy to children with serious illnesses and diagnoses across the country.
– “Min Stora Middag is an evening marked by hope, light, and the vital joy we bring. It is an occasion that showcases the results of Min Stora Dag’s efforts for our children and the impact of the support that has been invested. In the uncertain times we are experiencing now, it felt especially important to come together and dedicate a dark February evening to hope,” said Jennifer McShane, Secretary General of Min Stora Dag.
We also had the pleasure of having Tilde de Paula Eby as a charming host for the evening, and the organization’s patron, H.R.H. Princess Madeleine, was present. Other attendees included, of course, the invaluable ambassadors, partners, major donors, corporate and healthcare contacts, and a few sprinkled celebrities who have participated in Stora Dagar. Everyone present has, in one way or another, been engaged in the organization’s work to create important moments and fulfill wishes for children and young people with serious illnesses and diagnoses. The dinner was made possible by us, with great help from Visible Works, Pixel Space, Galatea, and Westmans.
The evening featured powerful testimonies from children, parents, and experts, creating a moving and memorable experience for the guests. The audience also enjoyed a series of outstanding performances by some of Sweden’s most beloved artists, including Carola Häggkvist, Amy Deasismont, and Samuel Ljungblahd. The children’s choir, the gospel choir By Grace, spoken word poet Sara Nazari, and the music group Trapptoner also moved the audience with their performances. Joakim Holgersson’s Trio provided the musical backdrop and guided the audience through the evening’s highlights.
All participants – from the host and artists to musicians and speakers – contributed without compensation, offering their talent to create an unforgettable evening. So did we at Gamla Riksarkivet, of course.
Thank you for a truly wonderful evening, Min Stora Dag!
